2021-2022 Season House League Registration & Costs

Faustina has set the registration fee at $0 until we can better determine when hockey will restart due to COVID-19.

Planned House League fees are $500 for all divisions based on a regular full-length schedule.  If the season is deemed to be shorter than the full schedule, the $500 fee will be reduced on a prorated basis.

You need to register to secure your spot.  Notification of when payment is required will follow once confirmation of a season start is received.

We understand that some families have been financially impacted by COVID-19. When we open the payment system for the $500, we will have a process for families to request a payment plan or to confidentially request a registration subsidy.

The following details provide guidance on our standard seasonal structure at Faustina.

The $500 Full Season cost includes:

  • 22 games.  If you make it to the finals this can get up to 26 games!
  • 20 practices (averaging once per week) ** This has been modified lower as a result of having to reduce numbers for COVID Protocols (breaking practices into smaller group slots)
  • Team sweaters, socks and pictures
  • Awards for first goal, hat-trick & shut outs

*2017 birth year players must be comfortable shuffling or skating around on the ice unassisted

We offer a family discount of $25 each for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th player signing up from the same household family.  Your only other cost is the player’s equipment.

Some things we think you will love about Faustina!

  • We are a fully volunteer run organization . . . we have been since 1935!
  • We are all about building an affordable community hockey experience that is based on fun, player development, and a love of the game
  • Annual fundraising drives for SickKids (over $33,000 raised the past few years), FireFighters Toy Drive, Food Drive
  • All our coaches and bench staff have all required certifications including police checks, Respect in Sport for Coaches, Gender Sensitivity.
  • Practice and play on the same rinks as the Leafs & Marlies (Here @ Ford Performance Centre)
  • We even spin the tunes between stoppages in game play 🎵🎵🎵
  • Check out results from our parent’s survey to learn more

Saturday is game day for all divisions.
The first game of the day is 7 AM and the last game 7:00 PM

  • With the exception of the U7 (Tyke) division (which plays early in the day), the different age based divisions move thru the game day schedule on a rotational basis.
  • Everybody takes their turn at those early and late start times.

The season long schedule for all the teams is ready on the first day of the season, so parents can know weeks ahead when their player has a game.

Modified Ice – I.P. Program (U8-U9 / Minor Novice,Novice)

Faustina is at the forefront of implementing Hockey Canada’s mandated Initiation Programs which include all 4 to 8 year old players – we think you’ll find one of the best Hockey Canada based Initiation Programs (I.P.) around @ Faustina.   Last season we had 45 volunteers running our U7 Tyke Timbits I.P. Hockey program alone.

Visit our U7 Timbits I.P. page or our U9 Novice I.P. page to learn more about our development program that is based on small ice game time while prioritizing skills development and love of the game.

Teams & Divisions

Players are organized into teams and divisions by age.  Some movement is made to other divisions based on ability if needed.

Last season we had 36 teams in 7 divisions for over 600 players.

  • U7 (Tyke) rotates through 5 minute shifts with 3 zones (practice area, mini-game, Bench).  Players take turns playing goal.
  • U9, U11 (Novice – Atom divisions) are 3-minute buzzer line changes and no body checking.
  • U12 – U18 (Peewee, Bantam and Midget) divisions are change on the fly and no body checking.

Same team / coach requests

We cannot guarantee same team or specific coach requests but we do our best to accommodate these where possible.  Complete this form if you would like to submit a request for next season.

The house league teams do not practice as teams during the season.

For Tyke to Bantam aged players we have weekly skating and skills improvement practice sessions, all indoors at the Ford Performance Centre or nearby Long Branch Arena.

The 2021/2022 season schedule for practices is still to be determined, but last season we had sessions on Tuesdays 5pm, Thursdays 5pm  and Sundays 7 , 8, 9 am.  Wedo not expect this to change for the this season.

Here is a link to the practice schedule from last season for reference.

Since we do not practice as teams, we can be flexible for players attending other age group sessions if they cannot make their groups practice, a player can practice once or sometimes twice a week if desired.

We do have a pre-season Hockey School that offers 10 hours of practice time for interested players to improve their skills. Space is limited and the cost is $ 275.00, click here for more information.

Respect in Sport Parent Certification

A parent/guardian of every player is required by Hockey Canada to take this course (if you have taken it previously, you do not have to renew it).

Learn about the required respect in sport online course for parents.

The Faustina Hockey League plays all games at the Ford Performance Centre, 400 Kipling Ave. Toronto (just north of Lakeshore Blvd.) in south Etobicoke.  This is also the practice rink of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Marlies and Hockey Canada.
